Thanks outback_ute. I still can't get my darn image uploading to work. The pics I had were of the initial 1952 Road Rover which looked more like the Landie. Your picture is the Road Rover in its last incarnation in the late 1950s. And yes johnydep I guess an SUV is hard to define but the Road Rover was definitely a different concept from the Land Rover station wagon and seems closer to what an SUV is now. All interesting bits of history and potentially another discussion. It all comes back to the point that for some, 2WD has some benefits and thus it shouldn't be a surprise that so many buy them - but of course this does not diminish the obvious benefits of AWD. As Territory says, the Terri is many things for many people. A very versatile package.
