Hey I have a 76 Fairlane Marquis and have just noticed that when I put my foot on the brake pedal there is a fairly loud hissing noise. The brakes aren't as strong as they normally are either, really need to push my foot on the pedal to get the car to stop. Just wondering if anyone would know where the leak would be cause that's certainly what it sounds like. Am I likely to lose my brakes altogether?
The break booster could be shot or you have a vacum leak in the line some where. Check the hose that gose from the booster to the manifoild for splits or losse clamps, if not that then it looks like it could be the booster.
Alright cool will do. Am I likely to lose my brakes completely ? How much will a new booster set me back ?
