:AAHHH: This is driving me nuts...I cannot find the 'door open' indicator on any of the doors or rear hatch (it's a wagon) and the door ajar light is always on, as well as the interior light if I hadn't removed the bulb! Where is the door open indicator?!?!?!?!? :wtf:
This is a known issue on Taurus and other models. I had the same problem last year, and did a lot of searching on the internet. The solution was to spray copious amounts of WD-40 into the lock mechanism in the rear of (in my case) the drivers door.
Had the same problem with my 98 SHO. On the 93 and up models they do not have the actual door pins in the door jams. They are all electronic now and located in the door latch. So, all I did was spray WD-40 in all the door latches and have not had a problem since in 3 years. So, spray away in all your door latches. They just get gummed up and its a very common problem.
