Hi all, just doing my homework and wanted some
advice/suggestions on what you have done to your car.
I've priced up and purchased some components such as
resseting the leaves, new bushes, shocks etc.
I'm wondering about a rear stabilizer bar (none on there now)
and factory tramp rods (I see them on ebay often-XA+XG GT),
and what is involved in fitting them.
I'm not keen on spending too much, having said that
all bushes, shocks, springs and front end will be new.
Any ideas? Please advise.
Forgot to mention, car will be used for touring and not on the strip.
Thanks again,
Will.

The tramp rods are a bit on the "wish list", though I'll be
running two gas tanks and I thought the sway bar should
offer a little more support .
Any ideas on what sway bar to use? from the same/other series
falcon sedan, wagon, commercial or would I need to go aftermarket?
Will.

from what i've found the XB XC style rear sway bars are a little thin, i think the ones on the XE or even XF series falcons work fairly well plus there thicker too, and you will notice the difference in handling, dramatic improvement if your car suffers from body roll

Thanks for the info. Just a few more questions.
Which rear sway can I fit? and how? is the ute already
set up to take one?
Re springs, will be getting new for the front, but is it really
needed at the back as they will be reset and the only new
ones I can find are Kings, and a bit rich.
Abou t the bushes, found a company called Noltec.
Set up by the bloke who started nolathane here in OZ
and a few people I've spoken to reakon it's the best,
the control of nolathane with the ride of rubber.
Costs about 20% more and has all possible replacement bushes
for my model. Anyone on the forum used this stuff ?
Thanks again, Will.

yeah i've heard that nolathane bushes (compared to rubber) are pretty harsh, more for a race car than street use, and i figure that the rubber bushes have lasted 20years already in my falcon then they will probably be ok for the next few years of my owning it

Take a look at the whiteline adjustable rear bar , quite heavy and with some good shocks will level the field , you might consider upping the front bar a couple of mm as well , good luck . http://www.fordforums.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1051706#
