It may be a whole bunch of things. What if the guy's running them
didn't know what the hell they were doing? What if it was their first
time at the track? Even if they had experience making runs, more then
likely this was the first time they have had these particular cars at
the track.

I am not going to go look-up the raw hp numbers on the cars, but the
Fourth Gen's (depending on the exact model) used de-tuned Corvette
Engines (LS-1). Also just because you get a T/A you may not get the
right T/A. If your looking for balls out, you'll want one with the
WS6 package on it. Ask yourself this question as well. Do I want a
3-6 year old muscle car that someone else has been running at the
track or beating the shit out of or do I want I new car that I can
beat the shit out of first?

No the difference is between the non ram-air cars (Z-28 & T/A) and the
ram-air cars (SS & T/A). Anyway, the LS-1 IS a killer engine regardless.

What is surprising is how many of them are still around new &
untitled. I do think they may be worth a buck or two in a couple of
decades, but I am not willing to bet the IRA on it.

There are an awful lot of `04 GTOs and Chevy SSRs still out there on
the dealers lots as well. I know plenty of people who paid way over
sticker to get one of these when they first came out. Hell locally an
$50k SSR can be had for about $32k right now. I've seen the `04 GTO's
as low as $25k.

Not to be a smartass, but 20,000 / .25 = potentially 80,000 1/4 mile runs!

Is that number with or without wheel spin?
