Guys,
I am not really a ford man, but I have a semi-stupid question to ask. My friend bought a 97 ford taurus and it wouldn't pass inspection (NY State) unless he replaced the ball joints and catalitic converter.
Now this is were it gets strange. He had to drive the car through a "drive cycle" by driveing the car in a certin manor to clear the check engine light, then get the car's computer "updated" by downloading new code paramiters form ford. I have never heard anything like this before?
Thank you in advance- Tom
