It will turn over and act like everything is ok. Then it will not idle and just turn off. It will do this many times. I have to let it sit for a while and then it will start like there is no problems. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

mjbescape.....I had to do a double take on this one. My 2001 Ford Escape is doing almost the same thing...except the not idle and turn off part...yet. Thought I had written it because it sounds just like my problem. So far I have replaced the fuel pump, throttle position sensor, fuel filter, battery (it was time for it anyways) some type of sensor...I wanna say IAC (will verify and get back with you) and gotten a fuel injection cleaning. The 3 different shops I took it to said the same thing because they couldn't "reproduce" the problem. The most recent one that "narrowed it down to the fuel pump"..was finally able to, but the problem still persists. I'm so frustrated now I don't now what to do. I'll keep u posted.
