Thanks for the help. I got the car back together yesterday, and
sitting in my driveway (as I expected) the temp got up to 210 (then I
shut the car off). I figured that the flush/flow for the radiator
would make things a little better but nothing significant.
Here are specific pictures that show my clearance problems (note the
top edge of the fan and how high it sits above the radiator):
