I have a Comp 140 and I'd still consider it noisy. Mines mounted in a way though which amplifies the vibrations which doesn't help. I also have it hooked up with a return line which may cause it to run louder.
I used a carter fuel pump for many years. They are fine up to 400hp,after that i went to a holley. Unfortunately all pumps are noisy, at least you know it is working.
Holley have a "HP" pump which they claim is quieter than the vane type red and blue. Check out JEG'S website. Haven't seen theses advertised in Australia.
It looks like you have the filter before the pump.I originally had mine that way and swapped it around.I think the pump was cavitating.I then got some rubber mounts from an exhaust shop which are about 1.5" round with a 5/16"stud out each side.It is very quiet mounted this way.Mine is the exact setup you have but in an XC.

I'll always run a filter before the pump to protect it from any possible crap.
My BIG free flowing filter will flow more fuel than the actual 10AN line that connects it to the pump. If it cavitates due to a line restriction, then that needs looking at. ie: run bigger feed lines, bigger filter, change tank pickup location.
You may want to try insulating your mounting of the pump. My Aeromotive pump was fairly quiet, but I don't think that it will mount in the same location as your current pump.
I used a 1/4" thick sheet of neoprene cut to outline the entire mounting surface to insulate the pump. Definitely couldn't hear it with the engine running!
If you look closely it is insulated with rubber blocks.
