Re: Screw the Fords again "CAMS"
Without question Ford was shafted in what I feel was the most blatant biased officialdom of the 'Holden 1000' yet. Anyone disagree with me about the whole conspiracy theory? Well here's afew points to think about:
1. We can start with Oran Park really, way before Bathurst. Lowndes & Ambrose are leading a pack of Holdens. Both drivers are stopped for stop-go penalties. Both teams produce computer data proving that the cars NEVER broke the speed limit. But the damage is done, case closed, & for some 'mysterious' (yeah right, covered up) reason we never hear anymore about that one again.
2. Go back over your old tapes people. Can anyone find footage of Marcus climbing out of the car in front of cameras, officials, fans & removing a helmet THEN a balaclava. You won't. He hasn't worn one for some time now, & has never hid the fact. Oh but now in the biggest race of the year they decide want to penalise him for hey? That was a real lifeline they hung onto for some time wasn't it?
3. Marcus screamed down the radio he wanted the whole field checked. So were they? I have heard nothing of the rule being enforced with other teams post-race or otherwise & without question they were NOT the only team not using them.
4. When Greg 'D*^% Head' Murphy decides to throw a tantrum because Marcus brilliantly finds a way past him, & causes a massive multi-car pile up how do the officals react to the proposal of stopping the race. In the modern racing era they are normally far too keen to pull the plug on races when there is an incident or at very least pull out a safety car when ther is only a minor bingle. But not this time. The track is blocked but thay pull off all stops to use the Safety Car only & not stop the race. If they did then official finishing positions would count back two laps leaving Marcus with a reasonably healthy swag of points from the position he was in at that time. Keeping the race going was the best way they could hurt his championship standings, despit the fact that the race clearly should have been stopped.
I could go on & on. This country's motor sport has been Holden biased for so long it is far from funny. Think about all the car's that have been banned through rule changes, a Holden has never been affected by them. What about the farce that was the Nations Cup Monaro, basically a full-house purpose built V8 super car built to race against modified road cars. Of course something should be done about it but I doubt it ever will, because motor sport in this country is never more profitable & popular then when a Holden is winning all the races.
