Re: Fuel pump relay location 94 GT

I cant seem to find exactly where mine is either.

not in the trunk as that is the inertia swich... have experienced this one popping unfortunately and tested it this occassion to rule it out right away.

My escort wagon is a 94. The car just 'shut off' sorta speak while heading out of town. I have the day off so I looked her over real good and found that there was no fuel making to the injectors (no preasure in the line). I listened closely for the fuel pump when turning the car on but not cranking. I hear a couplerelays closing then opening but no fuel pump buzz. Ok figue its the fuel pump so I took it out according to the instructions in the Chilton manual.

I test the unit... it WORKS! damn! well at least I saved myself that expence!

So next... check Chilton for fuel presure switch. I got confused at this point between a fuel presure regulator and a switch... well that search got me all annoyed. By the way there is NO fuel presure switch in a 94 escort *sigh*

At thi point I got all mad and dug up a long wire, connected it directly to the battery and to the fuel pump (yes I did the research to know which wires, didnt want a fire lol) Anyway this was only done as a last effor to get my car out of the visitors spot and into my parking garage spot (uphill) to save myself a nice ticket and possibly a tow.

In any event I looked up the only other thing it can be other than the dredded puter, and that being the relay. Problem is Chilton says there is one but does not say anywhere, where the sucker is. I hear a couple under the dash, sounds like the passenger side of the center console.

Anyone know where exactly befor I start ripping the dash all appart (I hate working under the dash, it's the worst place to work on a car!)

Hope ya enjoyed my ramblings and know the answer!
