Fords "Limited slip" clutch rear ends of that vintage are called Traction
Loc, Traction Loc units first appeared about 1969, prior to that from about
1964 to 1968 they used Equa locs. Don't know of a vender who manufactured
them for Ford, never heard of any reference to one either.
Your description of how your rear-end is working sounds a lot more like a
Detroit locker than a Traction Loc clutch "Limited slip". If indeed you do
have a locker with 3.25 gears I can pretty much guarantee that the locker is
not original from Ford and was added some time later. For '71 Drag Pack
option cars you got either 3.91 Traction-Lok or a 4.11 Detroit-Locker
differential, the only 429 (S)CJ Mustang gear ratio that got a
Detroit-Locker from Ford in '71.
