Is it true that after sitting on a shelf for over a year, an ECU from a
1988 RRC 3.5 with flapper type AF Meter, has to be completely reset
before trying to run the engine again ?
Thanks and appreciate the advice !

Total rubbish, it's a read-only device with look-up data that's "burnt" on a
processor. It'll work fine after any number of years, assuming it's
serviceable in the first place.
Badger.
Thanks Badger !
It was running perfect before I took the body off and replaced it with
a Series, wanting to look like a 100" Stage I but with coils.
It must be somewhere in the wiring then since it dies after a couple of
seconds everytime I start it eventhough the fuel pump is running well.
Any thoughts ?

Check the connections at the coil, there's a trigger lead (white/blue) runs
to a relay mounted on the airflow meter support bracket. If that signal is
lost, it'll fire up off the cold start injector but not get any main
injection and so will die.
Are you positive the pump is keeping running?? It will run during cranking
but only remain running if it gets a signal from the airflow meter, via the
relays, to do so. Worth rigging up a 12v feed straight to the pump just to
eliminate the relays/wiring maybe?
Badger.
I suppose it will be a 4cu, there is some stuff on my site which might
help including a 4cu cirguit diagram from a chap who may be able to
repair it for you.
