misc new years cheer

Well, without me realizing this until it was too late the local
officials predicted quite accurately that the industrial areas of
Sparks, Nevada would flood. Some of you who know of of me might know
that I'm the owner of a GT500KR and Nosey for one has seen it. I have
not written much lately (I'm lurking) as I now have someone else looking
for parts, etc for it. In fact it is 7 months and something very close
to 20 grand cash into a total professional restoration in you might have
guessed it, the industrial area of Sparks. It was in primer when seen
last about a week and a half ago. When my local news yesterday morning
showed me what was happening I quickly climbed in my 4x4 Ranger and
tried to get into the area. I abandoned my efforts when the water came
quite close to my floor boards about a half mile from the location I was
going after. My balls arent quite big enough to have taken and launched
the jet ski. Be about my luck to clog the pump with crap and lose the 3
seater. The business is maybe 200 yards from the riverbed so I probably
could have ran the streets (others had boats) slowly in it. Wouldnt have
mattered as I'm sure Bob wasnt there with the keys to his place.
Regardless I'm hoping the restorers knew what was happening and got the
thing out of there but I have little faith in that.
I hope to find out as soon at the sun comes up today but if the business
owner is there I expect to see the KR with water marks on it about 2-3
feet up from the shop floor. The freshly built 428 is also there on an
engine stand. Fortunately the C6 is in my garage.
One of the things that sucks is they found the original *no shit* sales
invoice from the sale of the car to my parents in 1969 among other
items. Those items were last seen in a box on the businesse's floor not
long ago along with a photo album with photos of paint and other unique
markings, etc that were shot on several rolls of film as the thing was
disassembled.
What sucks for the business owner is my car is one of many on his floor
and he has been talking of relocating the shop *a lot* lately but hasnt
done it. I'm sure hindsight is biting him hard.
