I took a look at that car. It's so-so. Still a lot of work to do,
and you still may need another parts car. The Falcon in the vid belongs
to someone in the FE group.
I'm thinning the herd down this year. I'm up to 35 cars and things
are a little crowded. Luckily, my local city council, as part of a
sweeping initiative to clean up the residential visual issues in this
town, just passed a bunch of new code ordinances. In an effort to get
people to stick their non-op cars and their boats and whatnot anywhere
but in the front yard, they have amended the code that I had trouble
with before. That being, no more than one non-op car in the back yard,
visible or not. The new compromise says that they will not hassle
anyone over cars that cannot be seen from the roadway. Their hope is
that people will start putting up fences separating the front and rear
yards, and moving things into the back. I'm in good shape, as I've had
one of the few properties with an opaque fence around it. There will be
a gradual phase-in of these appearance laws, but I've already seen some
of the locals humpin' on their yards. It's a good thing.
Anyway, I really only need 16 or 17 cars, so some are going away as
complete project cars, and some I'll probably part out. If at some
point you want a rust-free recipient for your 427 (details?), Bill, I
have two "naturals" for that. The '64 Fairlane 500 Ranch Wagon is
running and can sell at any time. I was going to do a T-Bolt variation,
but wound up snagging that Comet 404 instead. In a couple months my '65
Galaxie will be ready to go as a roller. I posted pics of both these
cars before. The '72 F-250 can go as a roller anytime, if anyone here
needs a tough truck.
As for my '66 Falcon, I think I'm going to try and get the brakes
and a couple minor things worked out, and use that as a daily driver.
I'm bored with the Crown Vic and that has to go. The Falcon has
operating factory in-dash A/C, with a Sanden compressor upgrade, so its
liveable during summer.
