The information reported on the news was that the leak was internal to
the switch. When the internal part of the switch allows fluid to
contact the electrical part of the switch the possibility of fire
exists. That is how disconnecting the power source from the switch
prevents the fire danger. The leak is not visible and has nothing to
do with fluid getting on the wires.
