tuff one to offer even a guess from here.
Since it will click in neutral (assuming you mean the tranny is IN Neutral) with brakes applied - have someone with a length of garden hose or cardboard tubing as in a gift wrap listen for the click in various places... figure on valve cover area first, then timing cover..watch for fan!
Torque Converter area is next and so on.
(and apply emerg. brakes and wheel chocks for safety)
