Tread wear garnered a lot of complaints too. But those reviewers
reporting back after putting only 200 miles on the tire had no such
complaints. Some of the 200-milers say it's "the best tire I ever
had." Go figure.

What car is that? My kid who worked in a tire shop says you can get
standard rated tires for just about any car. He replaced the z-rated
tires that came on my daughter's Mitsu with a standard rating, but she
kept the low-profile for the looks.
But if you're not performance oriented and don't care about the looks,
you can get smaller rims and a higher profile.
What's nice about that is you have now "customized" your car, and
rid yourself of the tire replacement problem all at once.
The Lumina I'm driving had a broken tail light assembly when I bought
it. The assembly spans the entire width of the tail.
The kid went to a couple boneyards and there were no Lumina assemblies
there. But he did find a perfect Monte Carlo assembly, and knew it
would fit. So my Lumina's ass looks like a Monte's ass.
It's a custom ass.
It's cool if you give it any thought, which I don't except right now.
And it was 35 bucks like-new Monte versus 160 bucks brand-new Lumina.
I figure being frugal sometimes just leads to cool.
Of course the kid spent time roaming boneyards. He loves it.
But maybe you think your car looks cool just the way it is.
