Funny you would ask that. I had a 460 powered Maverick with a solenoid on
the starter. Looked like a GM starter but it was Ford. The car I was talking
about in my reply has a regular Ford starter with no solenoid on it. They
have a pole piece that moves to engage the starter drive. That 460 is in a
Camaro:)
