cool Re: 96 Bronco Rearend Thumping?

I've experienced a similar thumping or shuddering when starting from a stop at about 60k miles.

After some asking around, took my '94 Bronco with Ford's factory locking rear end to a local non-Ford transmission specialist. His recommendation was to clean out the housing and change to GL-5 fluid and add what he called Posi-Lube additive, at a total cost under $75 plus tax. That was in 1999, currently the odometer reads 133k with no further occurance.

He also recommended that this procedure be done every 60k, which I did at about 125k.

I am a believer and happy customer.
