Guys, which is the stronger gearbox (6 cylinder if it makes a difference). If they are both roughly the same, which is cheaper and easier to modify to handle more power (Or is it cheaper to put in a totally different gearbox altogether)?

I would have to say T5. But it all depends on personal preferences. Honestly what are going to do to the car? If you are going to have heaps of grunt then a manual will be fun for all occasions. A auto can be fun, if built properly. If you want a fast strip car then a auto will be quicker, with a big stally, stage three or two shift kit.
It's going to be a car that I drive nearly every day of the week, and it will have around 200rwkw. I'd prefer manual, because my current fairmont ghia's an auto and the manual's are more fun to drive anyway. I'm also not going to do any drag racing (except at the lights )
