Hey all, I'm trying to help my old man save a couple bucks and avoid taking his explorer to the dealership, I'm pretty comfortable working on cars but just need alittle direction.

To start my old man drives a 2000 v8 explorer, i was wondering what spark plugs people are running on these things and what the recommended gap is?

Another issue he has is that the "Door Open" light stays on at all times, i think its a switch/sensor of some sort but don't know where to start looking.

Along the same lines he always has to have the switch to control the interior dimmer lights all the way off, otherwise the interior lights always stay on, at least until the car gets moving and then it goes off otherwise they stay on....its alittle odd


Ohh and his rear wiper doesn't work either


Anyways I appreciate any and all help, I'm supposed to visit over the weekend and wanted to help the rents out alittle bit and have him avoid a trip to the dealer over a bunch of minor problems.
