I have had intermittent rough running. I have, at those times, suspected it was transmission related, along with others. I also recently had intermittent starting problems. Mostly in the morning is when it would happen. Also it has been very cold here, around 0*. So thinking the battery I changed it. The problem did not go away. So the next thing I tryed was the connections. At the battery, the relay (behind the battery on the firewall), the starter & solonoid (why oh why did Ford put the solonoid down there!!!), AND, now here is the longshot, I cleaned the ground connections to the fire wall, which I belive may help all the crap they now put on cars, like sensors and whatnot.
My truck is running good right now, but time will tell........ Good luck to all.
