2006 Escape Stalling Issues

Can someone help me? I have a 2006 Escape XLT and am having problems with it stalling. It first happened a couple of weeks ago and I first thought it was bad gas (water). It stalled on the highway a few times but started right up, it sputtered at stoplights and seemed to lose power when I accelerated. After it stalled a few times the engine light stayed on. The problem seemed to go away after a few fills of premium gas and a bottle of gas line antifreeze. But, this morning it happened again. This time it wouldn't start at all after it died. I read in the manual that there was a fuel filter reset under the dash on the passenger side. I pressed it and it seems to be working again. Is this something I should be concerned with or do you think I may just need a new fuel filter?

Thank you

Derek
