'Caveat emptor' or 'buyer beware' is a well-known phrase that applies here, in other words it's up to the purchaser to check these things; unless you're a dealer you're really under no obligation to repair the car- how long will they keep coming back expecting you to fork out? The most I'd do is meet them half-way, maybe you buy the valve and they can get it fitted, and that is the final transaction on the deal.
