The 6 speed software was purposely designed with a very narrow rpm/torque band for each gearchange, so these boxes will always try to shift up/down around these parameters. That's why there is 2 different versions of it for the stock and performance models. It also has it's own control unit (TCM) as opposed to the 4 speeds that were controlled by the PCM. I understand the TCM software is very hard to overwrite and everyone I've spoken to have gone to the 6 speed manual as their only way around this. Hope this helps.
