Here's a couple of simple tests you can do. Before you do anything, check all the fuses and relays and the battery terminal connectors. If all ok, see if the immobilizer light is flashing on the instrument cluster. If so, the car won't start until this problem is solved.
Next, if the light is not flashing, try moving the gear selector from Park to Neutral while cranking the engine to check that it's not an inhibitor switch issue. If the inhibitor switch is faulty the car won't even crank.
If this doesn't make a difference have someone check that the starter relay 'clicks' when you move the key to the crank position. If the relay clicks you can blame the starter motor or solenoid.
