my 2 cents also, I had heaps of problems like that with a dirty throttle position sensor connector. Worked like a charm after I cleaned it with contact cleaner. Then I cleaned all the sensors just for good luck.
EDIT: come to think of it I had idling problems... not starting. It would idle all high, then other times stall. Sorry maybe this isn't that relevant to your problem
