i have just has my ef fairmont wagon in at the mechanics and have just found out the the head gasket is leaking oil externally. while i got told that it wont need replacing just yet, i would like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction of a good mechanic that can do the job for less than $1500 which i was quoted. i live in the south east of melbourne and would really appreciate any help.
cheers
the parts run about $125.00 , takes about 4 to 6 hours max unless you have it machined , try checking them first for pull down and then ask friends for help and do it your self , to run the head through a repco workshop for a mill / valve grind and clean will run maybe $300.00 and take three days .
do the work your self and save a grand even after buying a manual and tools
