Ummmm..... Errrr..... If the engine turns over (assuming you meant the engine cranks) I sure don't see the need for a new battery.

The first thing to do, if you have the ability and the hardware, is retrieve any stored diagnostic codes. Here's a relatively inexpensive way to do it....

Car Chip

Not too familiar with the gassers (I've driven diesels for quite some time), but you need to check fuel pressure at either the throttle body or the rail, depending on how your engine gets its fuel. Also, after cranking, pull a spark plug to see if it's wet with gasoline..... you may be getting fuel but no spark.
