I manage a field service group and we were driving '97 and '98 E-150's and 250's. One E-250 reached 270K and a E-150 made 307K before we turned them in. At turn in most had around 200K. All had the 5.4L.
Whats more amazing is that not one Vans ever got a transmission service. Our Fleet management company would not approve transmission services. Out of 17 vans we only lost 1 transmission, and that was because the driver got it stuck in a snowbank and burned it up trying to get out.
We did go through a crap load of ignition coils.
Due to the Twin I-beam suspension eating up Front tires, and the ignition coil problems, Upper management decided to replace them with Chevy's.

Time will tell.
