Re: 96 Bronco Rearend Thumping?

Howdy I have a 1995 EB with 232K and just recently dealt with this. A few guys at fullsizebronco.com suggested I grease the slip joint in the rear shaft. You have to cut the steel bands that secure the rubber flex boot then un bolt the drive shaft at the t-case. When I got mine apart it was tight and appeared to have adequate grease. I added some more grease (Kendall blue bearing grease) gooped it on good. Put it back together and wadda you know...no more klunk. Can't tell you why it works like this it just does. Good luck.
