I wouldn't doubt it. In a recent Car and Driver road test the I4 Fusion was ranked second from the bottom for performance. They claimed the automatic is geared toward fuel economy and wanted to up-shift as soon as possible, making it a lazy combination for an otherwise sporting sedan. I'm sure it would be a different story with the five speed manual transmission. Ford should inrcease the size from 2.3L to 2.5L and then be 0.1L larger than its competitors.
