Tough call...

Just a thought, it sounds like it could be the fuel injectors, but maybe not.

I don't think it would be the inertia switch since your getting fuel pressure at the manifold.

You first should get something called a "noid light" to check the pulse on the injector to see if indeed they aren't firing. If they really aren't, It might point to the Throttle position Sensor (TPS). In normal working order a full throttle start throws the engine into a zero-fuel start (in case its flooded). If the tps thinks you are giving a full throttle at all times, this could cause all fuel injectors to stop until the computer receives a lesser signal.

On another note, I would look a little more closely at the ignition system. You may have skipped a gear in the distributor or somehow broken the base ignition timing resistor. Both of these would immediately and drastically change your ignition timing to the point of failure.
