Re: timing issue

What kind of motor? xflow? 3.9/ 4.0 ?
if it runs at all it wont be 180 out
a common fault is the harmonic ballancer shifting on the rubber mount, but ive seen a few degrees, maybe ten, but never 180
is there a timing gauge at the top of the crank? Or is it underneath, maybe this is standard on a truck, i have seen it a lot on imports but being a truck i cant see a reason with all that extra room .

The spout connector is usually green in that era has 1 wire in and 1 out.
Check that both valves are closed while u check for tdc on piston 1 if not this is exhaust stroke and not compression stroke. This will explain the 180 out on the crank but not the dizzy being at plug 1.
Also check that the pulleys are true to allignment on the balancer, if u r seeing a mark on the pulley and it is bolted on 180 out this will explain it also.
