2000 GT Fuel Rails

We are doing a new intake manifold on my 2000 mustang Gt. In The process the fuel rails where removed and are to be replaced with a larger Edlbrock 3/8" fuel rail. My question is on the drivers side of the engine we have ended up having 2 left over plugs with no home. One in the back drivers side fire wall which looks like a small headphone jack. And one on the same side 3/4 the way down the fuel rail. There is a plug on the stock fuel rail but not one on the new Edlbrock one. What is the function of those plugs? My Mechanic seems a bit lost, and im scared lol to say the least.
