I dont understand how it could be being the fire order is 1,3,4,2 and the first and last cyls are good but the middle are bad i figure if the timing is off they wouldnt even lift or sure enough if one doesnt lift in this case the other or next one wouldnt either right?

Now hold on, cylinder 1 is at the front of the engine and 4 is at the rear. Its 1,2,3,4 from cylinders front to rear. It's 1,3,4,2 on the distributor.
