I had a 1990 Cougar and i could barely get the thing past 20mp but when i did it was better slightly.Turned out to be a broken disc pad that got stuck between the rotor and calipar.Thing was it didnt shake or have stopping issuse.Sometimes its not even engine problems.Just a suggestion.Also when flooring it does your R.P.M's go up and/or you hear a clunk when you finally do get it engaged?
