I'd like to get that gas economy. My 95 1.9 can only get around 26. It has that goofy loopy idle issue as I see is common here, and a speedo that bounces around while driving, and an overheat problem that is common too.
I don't trust the fuel guage readings - it might be off.

Once in a great while the car has no power. I have to unplug the idle air control valve and it will go again but, won't idle. It still has the RPM problem. About 10 miles down the road, when I'm sick of stalling at stop signs I will plug it back in and it is normal besides the RPM's, this stays consistant.
That is my problem. This Is what I did to try to fix it. Changed the throttle positioning senser, idle air control value, mass air flow senser, fuel filter, cleaned the throttle body, sprayed down all the vacuum lines, intake, and injecters with ether. Found no leaks. There is no light coming on in the dash, only when I unplug my idle air control valve. I had two mechanics look at it and, had two scanners hooked up to it. All with no luck.
Now I'm leaning toward the map senser or the brain (computer). If any one has had this problem I would LOVE to hear how you fixed it. This is the only problem I have had with this car and 35 MPG is hard to give up.
