Dear Folks. I have a 2006 Five Hundred with 65k on the odometer. My car has the CVT trannie and is currently in the shop for the third time because the transmission is going out. Unfortunatly for Ford I DID buy the extended warranty and is , therefore still covered. Even still Ford will NOT replace the trannie even with it's extensive record of problems. What did I do? I went to my handy dandy Philadelphia lawyer(literally), gave him all the history and paperwork, including extended warranty. The attorney is ruthless, resourceful and mean - typical Philadelphia attorney. He told me to go out and buy a jar of Vaseline for "Henry" because guess where this trannie is going!!! If anyone wants the name of the firm, let me know. I'm going to court.
