This same thing used to happen to my 03 sable - hasn't happened since the dealer replaced my trans position sensor - I had that changed because I had a transmission light and the code pointed to that sensor. The stalling/dying out happened before that sensor generated a trans light. Not sure if that was what was causing the sudden stalling out or not. When it happened it was very frightening - it was as if there was a direct short somewhere causing everything to loose electrical power including the ignition... Not a good feeling when doing 55 or more on a busy highway...
