Having a hard time finding some ladder clamps for my new 09 Escape. The only ones I have come across are the ones that bolt into your roof. I hope to find some that will attach to the roof rack/cross bars.
You might have to go custom here, as the '09 is redesigned and a bit different. Whether or not the roof rack is different from the earlier models is a good question in itself. However, you can always drill holes into the cross bars and make it custom fit to your specific ladder and then bungee it down for extra security. If you have a good drill, pick up some stainless steel bolts, along with some lock washers and you have yourself a ladder clamp. You may want to consider adding on a hinged L bracket or something similar for extra security, but that'll just be a pain when you want to remove the ladder. Allow it to rest on some long bolts, and bungee it down and you'll be fine. I did something similar on an older cargo van. Worked great...but I used regular steel and they rusted after a couple weeks! oops.
