Arrow 1990 F150 Vacuum issue?

I have a 90' F150, 5.0L, 5 speed stick. The issue is that, only sometimes, when I press the clutch to change gears, the engine either holds rpm's or slightly increases rpm's. After a few seconds the rpm's will lower like normal. Occasionally I need to "goose" the throttle and that will get it to come down too. Again, doesn't always happen but it normally occurs after driving 6 or 7 miles down the road after everything has had a good chance to warm up. Clutch seems normal, doesn't shift hard, slip, or anything like that.

A friend of mine said it could be a vacuum issue..

Thank you for your time!
