Re: Transmission question for a 70 Mach 1 Mustang

cant believe a 70 mach 1 has a fmx , a c-6 is the heavy duty ford trans,a c-4 is under that c-6 has alonger tail shaft ,but needs a shorter drive shaft, to install standard, dont know how much it will cost but you need , flwheel, beelhousing, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, clutch fork, peddel asssembly , cluch linkage, hardware & trans, not sure if a t-5 will work but some one must make a kit for it to, and a different drive shaft these cars came with a 4-speed if you get another automatic the 351-c uses the same trans bolt pattern as a smallblock 351-w,302 a big block c-6 s different 351-m,400,429,460 the fmx isnt any good for something w/ power or towing get rid of it if you can, also different valve body linkage is used in a floor shift or colum shift
