Trouble Code: P0174

Fuel System Too Lean (Cylinder Bank 2)

Possible Causes:

Air leaks after the MAF sensor, or leaks in the PCV system
Exhaust leaks before or near where the HO2S is mounted
Fuel injector(s) restricted or not supplying enough fuel
Fuel system not supplying enough fuel during high fuel demand conditions (e.g., the fuel pump may not supply enough fuel)
Leaking EGR gasket, or leaking EGR valve diaphragm
MAF sensor dirty (causes PCM to underestimate airflow)
Vehicle running out of fuel or engine oil dip stick not seated
TSB 1-20-5 contains a repair procedure for this trouble code




Trouble Code: P0300

Random Misfire Detected

Possible Causes:

Base engine mechanical fault that affects two or more cylinders
Fuel metering fault that affects two or more cylinders
Fuel pressure too low or too high, fuel supply contaminated
EVAP system problem or the EVAP canister is fuel saturated
EGR valve is stuck open or the PCV system has a vacuum leak
Ignition system fault (coil, plug) affecting two or more cylinders
MAF sensor contamination (it can cause a very lean condition)
Vehicle driven while very low on fuel (less than 1/8 of a tank)
TSB 03-14-4 contains repair help for this code for COP ignition





Trouble Code: P0304

Cylinder Number 4 Misfire Detected

Possible Causes:

Air leak in the intake manifold, or in the EGR or PCM system
Base engine mechanical problem that affects only Cylinder 4
Fuel delivery component problem that affects only Cylinder 4 (i.e., a contaminated, dirty or sticking fuel injector)
Ignition system problem (coil, plug) that affects only Cylinder 4
TSB 02-16-2 contains repair help for this code (LS & T-Bird)
TSB 03-14-4 contains repair help for this code for COP ignition



Trouble Code: P0316

Misfire in the First 1000 Revolutions

Possible Causes:

Check for CMC DTC P0136, P0156, P0171, P0172, P0175, P1130 and P1150. Repair these adaptive fuel and HO2S codes
Check for any other CMC in memory. Repair these codes first!
Ignore P1000 codes that set during KOEO and KOER Self-Test




Trouble Code: P0455

EVAP Control System Large Leak Detected

Possible Causes:

Aftermarket EVAP hardware non-conforming to specifications
Canister vent (CV) solenoid stuck open
EVAP canister purge valve stuck closed, or canister damaged
EVAP canister tube, EVAP canister purge outlet tube or EVAP return tube disconnected or cracked, or canister is damaged
Fuel filler cap missing, loose (not tightened) or the wrong part
Loose fuel vapor hose/tube connections to EVAP components
Purge sensor or FTP sensor is out of calibration or has failed




Trouble Code: P0457

EVAP Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Cap Missing)

Possible Causes:

Fuel filler cap not installed after refueling (CMC P0457 is set)
Fuel filler cap missing, loose or cross-threaded
TSB 03-9-8 contains a repair procedure for this trouble code
TSB 3-20-3 contains a repair procedure for this trouble code
