Need an actual valued opinion PLEASE!!
Ok guys i have a super problem with my 01 Mustang GT. In April my Mustang started acting up. It was acting like my plugs were fouled when i was driving. It would bog alittle as i was driving, it never shut off or even idled rough. So after doing some reading i started replacing some parts. First i replaced the cooling temperature sensor (that didnt work), next it was the i.a.c. (that didnt work), next was the fuel pressure sensor and that didnt work either. Now when i say it was acting funny i mean if i went to start it in the morning it would only turn over it wouldnt start. As soon as i hit it with alittle starting fluid in the throttle body it would kick right on. No problem. I kept on doing some more reading and thought maybe my crankshaft sensor may have been bad so i changed that. When i took it out i saw that the magnet was broken. Not that something hit it but it was cracked so i replaced that. So when i went to restart it, it started right up but now it was backfiring from the lefthand side of the motor. So i started doing some more reading, i came across an area that was talking about the pcm being bad. Since i couldnt test it at home i had it towed to the Ford dealership. (i know, I know!) So i told them to hook it to the diagnostic machine and check it out before replacing anything else. So they did and found nothing they called me to ask for $360 more to do further checking. I told them i need to know whats wrong with it so to do it. Four days later I call them and ask what they had found so they told me it wasnt the pcm and the motor is fine so they were thinking it was electric and they would need more time. Fine i said as long as they figure it out. The weekend past and I get a call first thing monday morning and the Sr. master tech is trying to tell me my motor is shot. I told him i didnt believe him and to do further checking. I thought it was my pcm, when you start it, it acts like its out of timing. I heard its almost impossible for the 4.6L to jump timing. Is it possible that it did jump? Could the cam sensor be bad? It does have 114 thousand miles but keep up on all maintaince and it was running great before all this happened. It a stock motor other than a K&N filter and the Hypertech program. This is on its second week and Ford and I dont feel there giving me a straight answer can some of you guys shed some light on my situation? I am in need of my wheels and i feel like crapping on the service desk at the dealership.
