Thanks Tin Man. I had the TSB that describes the problem but not the step by steps. I was trying to read them but somehow they're boogered up. If you read the step by steps the sentences break in the middle and are overlayed with other sentences, like there must have been two columns of info. Any chance you can email that to me in document form?

Thanks for the other link too. My vehicle doesn't have that bypass hose and I don't think it needs it. My core was plugged with rust but it isn't anymore. I think the bypass is there in case the core plugs. That would then cause the coolant flow imbalance. I'll just be sure to keep the coolant conditioned properly and that there's always heat.
