Try jacking up the rear and runnibg it to see if you can hear the noise. Then you'll know more about where to look. Try servicing the transmission first. Yours has a drain plug on the torque convertor and with the filter, it would take 10½ qt, of fluid. Thats almost all of it. How does the fluid look on the dipstick? The transmissions are set for a particular year and would probably take a lot to make it work. So much computer control anymore. If you want to search for a used tranny, try here but get the numbers from yours first.
