I have an AU2 XR6 HP fitted with the 16" wheels. I was looking at the Ford Website the other day and the 17's are actually cheaper. Is there much of a benefit to upgrade to those rims and is there a better tyre out there than the Dunlop Bathurst's?
Would appreciate your feeback, thanks..
The 17's with their lower profile tyres will provide better turn in and more bite. I've been impressed by the wear and handling characteristics of the Dunlop SP9000's that came with my 17's. Saw 40,000 from the fronts and 45,000 from the rears (two rotations) and their grip is very good.
Hope this helps.
I could not believe that the standard wheels are one of the dearest.
I'll be putting SP9000s on mine when they are due. Like the Bathurst 1000s Ford have been using them for around 3 years now so they mustn't be too bad.
