Car News Briefs:
No. 1 with the Bullitt
Is it us, or are “special” Mustangs becoming more commonplace than special-edition Miatas? Hot on the heels of the Ford Mustang Bullitt GT comes the next variation from Team Mustang: Mach 1. The 2003 model echoes its 1969 predecessor in styling cues, with Magnum 500-like chrome wheels and a functional “shaker” hood scoop—though the scoop’s function is augmented by an ordinary snorkel intake in the nose of the car and the engine hardly vibrates like an old V8. Shake or no, the Mach 1’s 4.6-liter four-valve dohc V8 is expected to produce more than 300 hp—up 40 hp from the run-of-the-mill GT and 35 hp above the 2001 Bullitt—and 300-plus lb-ft of torque. It uses cylinder heads from the 5.4-liter V8 and a high-performance exhaust cam. Look for Mach 1 in showrooms by year’s end and priced at about $30,000. Ford plans to build just 6500 Mach 1s.

My first car was a 67 Mustang Coupe, 2nd one was a 67 Cougar XR-7, 3rd one was a 66 Mustang Coupe. Why did I get rid of these cars for ? I know why, because I'm stupid, stupid, stupid.
